It was a busy weekend filled with birthday celebrations, party crafting, and cake pop making! Sunday was my niece's first birthday celebration! It was a Winter ONEderland themed party and I can't wait to post the party pics with everything we created for the party and vendors we used.
For now here is a sneaky peek at the cake pops I made over the weekend for the dessert table. I didn't use my cake pop maker, I decided to make the regular crumbled cake and icing mixture pops from scratch.

The pops on the dessert table at the party:

They look wonderful! So creative!
ReplyDeleteThese pops look delish, Karen is a top notch party expert! The tags are adorable too, you must share the vendor with everyone...
ReplyDeleteYum! I love anything chocolate. To make the pops did u use a scoop (like a cantaloupe scoop) and just grab some cake out of the whole cake to make circles, and then dip them into the frosting and toppings?
ReplyDeleteHere is what I do- I crumble the cake into a bowl. Then I mix in the frosting until I get a consistency I can roll into balls. You have to be careful it doesn't get too mushy. Then I roll the mixture into balls, chill in refrigerator for 20 minutes, then add the pop sticks, chill again and then start dipping. Yep, it's a process!
DeleteCake pops are multifunctional. They are adorable and fun so they look great sitting out on a table yet they are delicious so they are perfect for party treats. What a great idea! They look awesome with the picture attached to them.
ReplyDeleteI love cake pops and I make mine the same way! I would rather scoop them myself with a melon baller than use a cake pop pan, I tried one once and it just wasn't the same. I've never used icing for the consistency, I always use a little bit of water and oil and after I refrigerate them then I add the sticks and dip them, I'll have to try it your way!
